What is the capacity of the compost bin?
Answer: The compost bin has a 70L capacity. -

How often should the compost be turned?
Answer: The compost should be turned 5-6 times every 2-3 days. -

Is the compost bin suitable for year-round use?
Answer: Yes, it is heavy-duty and suitable for all seasons. -
Question:
What kind of waste can you add? Garden or food? If food waste can be added, does that include meat or is it best to stick to vegetable matter?
Answer: You should only place garden waste and raw vegetable waste inside as this is not a hot composter. It's not advisable to put meat, meat products or cooked food inside. You will need to regularly tumble the composter; and ensure that the content remains moist. It can take two to three years to break down vegetable matter into compost even if you use an accelerator. Poultry manure or human urine are examples of natural accelerator. Hot bin or Bokashi bin is recommended if you want to compost cooked food or meat waste. -
Question:
I am concerned about the reviews of screws not being able to be put in especially with the cost of item.
Answer: While it's impossible to find a slightly smaller screw that works, you can put the screws in the fridge so it shrinks a bit. This will make it easier for you to screw them in. You can also use power tools for easier installation. -

How do you get the compost out when it’s ready?
Answer: The only way to get the compost out is to place a container underneath, take off lid and tip up. You would need to move it forward and back to get all the compost out. -

As this is a composter, I wonder why in the description is says 'It can't be used as compost'?
Answer: This means meat, beverage bottles, toxic chemicals, and similar materials can't be used as fertilizer raw materials. These materials can't compost. -

Are there multiple compartments within it or do you have to wait for the compost to finish composting before you can add more?
Answer: The composter has two compartments, both 70 litres. The theory is to fill one while the other is composting. You have to wait for the current compost batch to finish before you can add more.
