Hemen her bilim alanındaki bu olumlu gelişmeler, milli kültürümüzün değişmez ve en temel öğelerinden biri olan Türk Dili üzerinde yapılan çalışmalarda da görülmektedir. Burada sayıları sekseni bulan üniversiteler ve özellikle Türk Dili Kurumu'nun çabalarını belirtmekte fayda var.Türkiye'de yüz yılı aşkın bir mazisi olan ağız araştırmaları, yukarıda sözünü ettiğimiz süreç içinde giderek yeni bir ivme kazanmıştır, hem nitelik hem de nicelik açısından milli kültürümüze önemli katkılar sağlayan bu çalışmaları heyecanla ve takdirle karşılıyoruz.Ağızların derlenip bir an evvel bilimsel metotlarla yazıya geçirilmesi iki açıdan önemlidir. Birincisi; dil tarihimiz açısından yerel ağızların ses bilgisi ve şekil bilgisine dayalı olarak karakterlerinin tespit edilmesi. İkincisi ise, derlemeler yoluyla yörenin halk bilimi öğrelerinin (düğünler, ramazanlar, maniler vs.) ortaya çıkarılıp yazıya geçirilmesidir.Afyonkarahisar merkez ağzı üzerinde çalışmaya karar vermeme, hocam Prof. Dr. Gürer Gülsevin'in, üniversitemiz Araştırma Fonu'na takdim ettiği Uşak İli Ağızları adlı çalışmasının büyük etkisi olmuştur. Kendisine Afyonkarahisar Merkez Ağzı üzerinde bir proje hazırlamak istediğimi söylediğimde takdirle karşılamış ve bu çalışmayı bir an evvel bitirmemi önermiştir.Bu çalışmamızla, Afyonkarahisar ve yöresi ağızları -daha önce yapılmış yüksek lisans, lisans tezleri ve diğer çalışmalarla- ülkemizde ağız araştırmalarının en çok yapıldığı iller arasında ilk sıraları almaya namzettir.Ürünün baskısı görseldeki ile farklılık gösterebilir.
