MBRP Cat-Back Systems S5146409 Editorial Review
The MBRP S5146409 2.5 Cat Back Dual Split Rear Exhaust System has received strong positive feedback from customers who appreciate its impressive sound profile and relatively straightforward installation process. Users report that the system produces a deep, throaty growl—especially noticeable during cold starts—which enhances the overall driving experience without being excessively loud or obtrusive in the truck's cabin. Although the installation of the exhaust system is marked as largely simple, some users encountered challenges, particularly when removing the stock exhaust and aligning the new system correctly. Most found that using lubricants like WD-40 can greatly ease the removal process. While some chose to have professionals handle the installation, others managed to complete it themselves, albeit with varying degrees of difficulty depending on the condition of their old exhaust systems and the specific model of their vehicles. One point of concern raised by a few customers is related to the material quality, with reports of early rust formation after a few months of use, suggesting that the stainless-steel quality may not be as durable as expected. Additionally, while most users enjoyed the exhaust's sound, some reported a slight droning effect inside the cab at highway speeds. Overall, the MBRP exhaust system scores high marks for the sonic enhancement it brings to trucks, along with an aesthetic upgrade—and remains a particularly recommended choice for those looking to amplify their vehicle's presence on the road. **
