It works on all surfaces, including 1500 polished, 3000, and 4000. However, you need to take your time, practice, and perfect the process. It's a great tool to have when you can't make it to your bowling pro shop in time to get your ball cleaned and polished before leagues, tournaments, etc. The rotating base is a nice feature but may need some additional ball bearing lube to keep it rotating smoothly. This product is of high-quality and can be used to resurface your ball to manufacturer specs. The shipping was fast.
