The Sea & Sea YS-01 Solis Strobe is a great value for the price. It works very well and the brightness is fantastic. It really makes a difference when taking photos underwater. One reviewer operated the unit in TTL mode hooked up to their Olympus TG-6 camera inside an Olympus PT-059 housing. They were very pleased with the results, and the power output at distances up to about 2 feet is impressive. Their underwater pictures were much improved over using ambient light and custom white balance. However, one downside is that the battery compartment cover closes with a 1/4 turn and it is possible to get the cover misaligned so that it appears to be sealed when it isn't. One user had the battery compartment flood on the 11th dive, but Amazon allowed them to return the unit for a full refund. Another reviewer who shoots professionally on land was impressed with the control of this light. They have a full understanding of lighting and anything less than this strobe is a disappointment. They also loved the integrated modeling light for focus.
